I was skeptical of how small the magnet is but it does the job splendidly. I recently broke my rod and left my magnet on the rod. I went online and explained the situation and they sent me a new magnet.
Weak magnet, 3-D printed. Didn’t work.
Hi Brad, thanks for the review. Shoot us an email if you need to process a return. If you're willing, we'd love to hear about your setup (rod and reel weight, where the magnet was mounted) so we can improve. I use the rod roost near daily on rods all the way up to six weight without issue, so we're anxious to understand what's happening when people feel like the magnet isn't strong enough. We also have the XL version, which uses a larger magnet, which we recommend it for rods six weight and up. Thanks again for checking out Talweg - Brigham
I read other reviews about the magnets being too weak but I decided to give them a try anyway; I should have listened to the reviews. Returned the product.
Derek, thanks so much for checking out Talweg and for the review. If you're willing, we'd love to get a better idea of your setup (rod and reel weight, where the magnet was mounted) so we can improve. I use the rod roost day in and day out on rods all the way up to six weight without issue. So we're always curious when people feel like the magnet wasn't strong enough. We also have the XL version, which uses a larger magnet, if you're interested in that we generally recommend it for rods six weight and up. Thanks again and Merry Christmas! - Brigham
Looks like a solid product.
Thanks for the review Tim, good luck out there!
It is very easy to attach using only the hand holding the rod.
Glad to hear, thanks for the review!
