Rigging a size 24 gnat to 7x tippet with your bare fingers and naked eye is a badge of honor. We get it. But fingers get cold, light gets bad, hands and eyes get tired. The Fly Roost is here to help! The Fly Roost holds your fly in place, guides your line through the eye of the hook, and spins to help you finish the knot. The Fly Roost lets you easily thread and knot your fly no matter how small the hook or how frozen the fingers. The Fly Roost works with most hooks and fly types from size 6 down to size 24.

Please make sure you purchased an authentic Talweg product. If you ordered from anywhere other than this website or an actual fly shop, if you paid anything other than 29.99, or if you got a useless piece of plastic in the mail , then you unfortunately purchased a fake from Chinese counterfeiters.
They are using our name and our images but they are selling fakes. Our products are made in and shipped from Utah. We would love to help you get the real product, but please don't leave us a review of a product that we didn't sell. If you're not sure, send us an email and we will get you taken care of.
Never received the item. Get regular updates that are probably fake up until it arrives in the U.S. then no more updates and no product . Beware!!!
What an awesome tool. I’ve always struggled tying on very small flies, especially on cold windy days. This tool solved the issue.
Thanks for the review Anthony, love to hear it. Have fun out there.
Threader does not work on smaller flies with dense hackle. 5 or 6 x tippet will not thread easily . More trouble than useful. I watched numerous videos but in the end I gave up.
Thanks for the review Thomas. Wish we could figure out why some have a '1 star' experience while multiple 5-star reviews come in the same day, but we know there are a lot of variables at play. Just in case you missed them, please consider these tips. If that doesn't t help, shoot us an email and we'll get you taken care of. - Brigham
Be sure the eye of the hook is clear.
Make sure the natural curve of the tippet is pointing downward.
For lighter tippet, choke up so the tippet stays more 'firm' as you push it through.
Make sure you try the different slots, sometimes it's not obvious which slot works best.
Try reversing the orientation of the fly. Sometimes that lines up the eye better.
Great product, allows attachment of flies to tippet line extremely easily.
The only issue are the lack of clear directions provided with product. The online website is much improved and easier to follow.
Thanks for the review Pat! There are instructions inside the package insert, hope you saw those. Have fun out there.
Works well, but added costs for shipping/duties/taxes to Canada really jack up the final cost.
Thanks for the review mark, couldn't agree more about the shipping and import fees. Wish we had any control there but we sure appreciate your business. Tight lines!
